How does RosterCall work?

RosterCall is a class console for instructors. You set up a term, add courses, sections, and class lists. From then on, every class session has its own page where you can record attendance, randomly select students, and create groups of any size.

A record is kept of all sessions, courses, and terms, and each student’s marks, participation, and group history are displayed on their page. All information can be exported to or imported from spreadsheets.

1

Your terms

Each term displays a weekly calendar above a list of its courses. Each block is labeled with its component and its section number and is tinted to that section’s color. Click a course’s block in the calendar or its name on the list to go to its course screen.

2

Your course

A course card shows its sections on the same kind of calendar. A course may have one section or several, each with its own class and secondary components, such as a lab or TA section. Click a section’s block in the calendar or its name on the list to go to its session screen.

Today’s session

Each class day gets a session page with three tabs. The Attendance tab records students’ attendance. The Call tab randomly selects students. The Groups tab generates random groups of different sizes.

4

Student pages

Each student has their own page. Click a student’s name on the session page to open it. It shows the sections they belong to, where they can be excluded from calls, and their attendance history, with each session’s marks, credits, and group.
